I can't claim for it to be on my top 3 favorite burgers, but it was good. The meat isn't like a regular patty, it tastes more like a barbecued carbon burger --really good. They are also generous with their fries, but not a big whoop.
It's a small enough plaza with other types of foods to eat (vegan, Thai, Mexican) so it attracts all ethnicities and ages. While we were there a group of off-duty police officers were also enjoying their meal, as well as a family. -

I came here yesterday after a long morning of studying in the area and as mentioned in all the previous reviews, the burger was AMAZING and hit the spot. While I've been loyal to another place closer to dtla for burgers where I spend $15 on average per visit, the quality and price you get for it at bpg really is worth the visit. This place should be poppin if only it were more conveniently located. The man behind the counter was so sweet in preparing my order and even brought my food out to me (it's a cafeteria style building). The total for the burger and buck fifty snapple came out to about $6 - nothing more satisfying than a great meal that didn't leave a dent in my wallet. I'll be back!!

No frills burger spot inside Mercado la Paloma.
Coming from USC, we take a shortcut through the smelly and dark overpass which cuts to the side of the DMV building and parking lot...worth it though! They have cleaned it up in the past year.
The King Burger is so good. The Double King Cheeseburger is even better. Tip: Skip the mayo if you prefer less calories. The patty is super juicy and flavorful. So simple (onions, tomato, lettuce, pickles, mayo, cheese) and so FREAKING good!! Combo comes with thick, hot fries (can pay extra for chili cheese fries) and a drink. The menu is quite extensive but I'm loyal to the King Burger family line.
Free basket of chips and salsa while you wait for your burger.
Quite possibly one of the best burgers in LA. -

Had the double King Cheeseburger. Wow hat a large burger. I'm a big eater, but I couldn't finish everything. So good, so juicy. A must stop if you're looking for a great burger joint that's a hidden gem. It's inside the LaPaloma center. Worth the stop

Definitely one of the places I frequent if I happen to see no one in line, but a place I'll avoid if there's more than three. The key to avoiding the lines and the wait is to phone ahead, which a lot of people do. However, I can never seem to get myself to do that!
Of the more than dozen times I've been here, the staff have always been friendly. If they see line queuing up pretty long, they would take your orders ahead of time to get it started. However, in the end, there is usually still quite a wait to get the order. The plus side? Free chips and salsa while you wait.
I've had the cheeseburger, the cheese steak, the rib plate and the fish plate. What I get depends on what I feel like for the day. Of the four, I probably enjoy the fish plate the most given the variety in the plate. It consists of pan fried fish, salad, fried rice and fries. The best of all? It's not really that oily. The cheesesteak is probably the most oily of the items I've had there. However, I do enjoy the fresh veggies that they put inside the cheesesteak. It'll be nice if they used the thinner steak. The cheeseburger is the typical fare. The beef plate consists of two pieces of beef ribs, salad, and fried rice. It tasted alright, but I prefer the fish over the beef.
All in all, if you have time to wait, Burger Plaza Grill's worth a try!
